Privacy Policy
Effective 18 October 2026
Taggy is an Android app that lets you tag the images, videos and other files on your phone so you can find them later. This policy explains what personal data the app handles, why, and what you can do about it.
The controller is Fatih Babagil, trading as Kuarasoft, Yunusemre Mah. Hürmet Sk. Zirvedağ Evler B Blok No: 12 İç Kapı No: 10, 25080 Palandöken/Erzurum, Türkiye ("we"). Contact: privacy@kuarasoft.com.
The short version
- Your files, your tags and the list of folders you watch stay on your phone. We never receive them.
- Taggy has no accounts. You don't give us your name or email address to use it.
- The app uses Google services for crash reports, usage statistics, notifications and app checks, and, on the free plan, Google AdMob to show ads.
- Pro is bought through Google Play. We never see your payment details.
What stays on your phone
To notice new files, Taggy reads the folders you choose to watch, using the media and storage permissions you grant it. The tags you add, the records of which files you tagged, your pinned tags and your settings are stored in the app's private storage on the phone. If you make a backup, Taggy writes a zip file to the place you pick, and it goes nowhere else. Files you share into Taggy from other apps are copied into its own folder on the phone.
Uninstalling Taggy, or clearing its data in Android settings, deletes all of this. Files Taggy moved into its own folder with "tag and hide" are deleted with it, so move them back first if you want to keep them.
What the app sends, and why
Crash reports
When the app crashes or hits an error, Firebase Crashlytics sends us a report with the error, the app version, the phone model, the Android version and an installation identifier. File names, file contents and tags are not part of it. Crashlytics keeps reports for 90 days. Purpose: our legitimate interest in fixing bugs.
Usage statistics
Google Analytics for Firebase records how the app is used, for example which screens are opened and whether a purchase was made, together with an app-instance identifier, the phone model, the Android version, the language and the approximate country. We use it to see which features people use and where they get stuck. Google keeps this data for at most 14 months. Purpose: legitimate interest in improving the app.
Notifications and settings
Firebase Cloud Messaging gives the app a token so we can send occasional messages about Taggy, and Firebase Remote Config fetches settings that let us change parts of the app without an update. Both use an installation identifier. Purpose: providing the app.
App checks
Firebase App Check uses Google Play Integrity to confirm that requests come from the genuine Taggy app on a genuine device. Purpose: legitimate interest in preventing abuse.
Ads (free plan)
On the free plan, Google AdMob shows ads. AdMob can use your phone's advertising ID, your IP address and information about how you interact with ads to show and measure them, and, unless you opt out, to personalize them. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings under Privacy, Ads. Pro has no ads. See how Google uses data in ads.
Purchases
Pro is a subscription sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment. The app receives the purchase status from Google Play to unlock Pro; we never receive your card details. Purpose: contract.
Who else receives data
The services above are run by Google, which processes the data for us and, for AdMob, also for its own purposes as described in Google's privacy policy and the Firebase privacy information. Google may process it outside your country, including in the United States, under its standard contractual safeguards. We don't sell personal data or share it with anyone else, except where the law requires us to.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and Türkiye's KVKK, you can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and complain to your data protection authority. Because Taggy has no accounts, we can only find data linked to your phone if you tell us its app-instance identifier; write to privacy@kuarasoft.com and we will help you find it. For ads data, use the controls in your Google account and Android settings.
Children
Taggy is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
We will update this page when the app's data handling changes and change the date at the top. If a change matters, we will also tell you in the app.
